Furthermore, Nicole was named first team All-Conference and first
team All-Area from her freshman to senior
year.
In addition to her high school
softball achievements,
Nicole competed with and among
some of the top
softball
players in the nation
while playing
for the
Indy Crush traveling
softball
team. Indy Crush was an elite 18U
Gold traveling organization
who finished
1st for the
ASA State,
2nd in
the ASA Orland Park tournament,
and
3rd in
the ASA Colorado Sparkler tourney,
which
consisted
of over sixty
teams. Nearly
80% of the
2003
Indy Crush
team went
on to
compete at the division one
collegiate
level. During the 2003 season,
Miss Fougerousse
led the team
in hitting
with a .453
batting average
as well as
RBI’s.
Moreover,
she was voted
the Most
Valuable
Player in the Orland
Park
tournament
out of thirty
teams.
Although, Nicole Fougerousse Peter had a
successful softball career from 2001
to 2004, she endured
six knee
surgeries to do so.
In 2001, Nicole had two Anterior Crucial
Ligament (ACL) surgeries in her left
knee. Due to complications, Fougerousse
had four
additional
surgeries from 2002
to 2004.
While many would have been deterred,
Nicole took it as an opportunity to
become a student
of the
game.
After graduating
from high
school in 2004, she accepted
a full academic scholarship to Indiana
State University and pursued a Bachelor
of Science
degree in business.
In 2005,
she walked on to the Indiana
State Lady Sycamore Softball team.
In 2006, Nicole
formed
a not-for-profit
organization
called
the Clover
Softball
Organization,
which
was
the first
traveling
softball
program
in Greene
County,
Indiana.
Over
the last
five years,
Nicole
has coached
10U,
12U,
14U, and 16U
girl’s
fast-pitch
teams,
and the
Clovers
have
become
known
as an
elite
organization
who values
heart,
hard
work,
attitude,
and sportsmanship.
Nicole’s passion for softball and working with the youth is quite
evident,
when she is on the field coaching or instructing lessons . Her personal
mission
is to combine passionate players with the tools needed to achieve each
player’s
complete
potential.
In 2010,
Nicole helped coach the Linton Miners as an assistant coach, to become
the 2A State Runners Up. Now, she is currently the head varsity coach
at Bloomfield High School.
